What works, what doesn't
What works: size. A network that's been open for almost thirty years has members everywhere, including outside big cities, where newer apps are empty. Couples and swinging are normal uses there, not a hidden checkbox. And the free signup is enough to see if your town is active before you pay.

Cancel without getting charged
The subscription and the add-on renew until you cancel them, in the Account & Billing section or through support. Deleting your profile doesn't stop the payments, that's the most cited trap. If you paid through Apple or Google, you manage it in the store, and comparison sites say no refund is given when you cancel.
